From the Orchard - Display Piece
Watch how this was made: https://youtu.be/WItciWdfbXE
I was given a few of these Cherry Root balls a week ago and was so eager to get one on the lathe as I was expecting to see some beautiful grain .... I wasn't disappointed. The piece has been sanded to 7000 grit and finished with a coat of Danish oil and then Wood wax on top once the oil was dry. I wish I could have kept more of the bark on but unfortunately, the wood was too dry and most of it flew off the piece while turning.
This piece is approximately: 18 x 20 x 14cm
Disclaimer:
Products: My pieces are made from mostly natural materials, these may warp, crack or disfigure during their lifetime. This is natural and often unavoidable; however, I try my best to hold my pieces for 28 days to allow them to settle, and for me to make a judgement on if they are acceptable to sell (I have very high standards).
The photos shown are taken immediately after finishing the piece, please bear in mind that the finish may slightly dull over time, and cracks may appear, but all pieces are individual and will dry and/or settle differently. If you want a current picture of the piece, please email me before purchasing.
All of my pieces are intended for display purposes, please consult me before buying if you intend to use any of them to do anything other than make your home look fabulous.
If have any questions please contact me before purchasing.
